May 14 - 8th Grade Trip to Barefoot Republic - 9:00 - 6:00 p.m. We look forward to a fun 8th-grade trip. Students with passing grades and no more than two major office referrals since April 23rd are eligible. There is some rain in the forecast, but we hope to dodge some rain showers and have a great day of fun. If it is a total washout, we will return to school before the end of the day bus dismissal but the school will communicate this information on social media and through our school communication system. Otherwise, if your child is attending, please pick them up at 6:00 p.m. at BCMS(front parking lot similar to afternoon dismissal) 8th Grade Trip Reminders: No altered shirts (tanks must adhere to dress code- no cut-offs or spaghetti straps) Shorts must be at least fingertip length. Hats, sunglasses, and bandanas are allowed for the trip Students may bring sunscreen/rain jacket Drawstring backpacks only Beach towels are acceptable Water bottles A signed Permission slip is required to attend. Extra Snacks will be available/water/drinks and plenty of food May 15 - 8th Grade Breakfast Wednesday, May 15th is our 8th Grade Breakfast and parents may attend but not necessary. Students will eat with their homeroom teacher and the times are below. 7:55 - 8:35 a.m. - Alls, Little, Guminski, Harris 8:40 - 9:15 a.m. - L. Smith, Thompson, Slinker-Phelps, McCord, Scott 9:20 - 9:55 a.m. - Edwards, Slinker, B. Smith, Philbeck, Boston 8th Grade Breakfast is a fun event for our 8th-grade students to allow them to enjoy a great breakfast prepared by our cafeteria staff. Students can socialize with their friends and enjoy time with their BCMS family! We will have a photo backdrop for students who may want to take a picture with friends. *Parents may attend but we will not have student recognitions. Parents will sign in, show ID, and report to the cafeteria during their child’s scheduled breakfast time.


2024-25 BC 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys are invited to BCMS boys soccer open field and tryouts beginning in May. Boys must have a current KHSAA sports physical to attend. Starting tomorrow Wednesday, May 1st, BCMS students will take the Kentucky Summative Assessment(KSA). These assessments are Kentucky's measure of student proficiency and progress on the state content standards.Thank you for your help in making sure your child is rested and at school before 7:50 a.m. on testing days. This will allow your student to eat breakfast and be prepared for testing at 8:00 a.m. each day. Thank you for your support!
Students will take the following assessments:
Wednesday, May 1st - Reading (7&8)
Thursday, May 2nd - Math (7&8)
Friday, May 3rd - Science(7) / Social Studies(8)
Monday, May 6th - Editing & Mechanics(8)
Tuesday, May 7th - On-Demand(8)


BCMS boys basketball tryouts will be May 1st & 2nd from 3:15-5:00 pm for 6th graders and 5:00-6:30 p.m. for 7th graders at the BCMS gym. KHSAA physicals must be turned in to Coach Edmunds or the BCMS front office before any student can participate in tryouts. 6th-graders may ride the afternoon bus to BCMS. Please pick up athletes behind the middle school at 5:00 for 6th and 6:30 for 7th.


The BCMS Band concert will be this evening at 6:00 p.m. in the BCHS Auditorium.


BCMS FBLA had a great day at our first ever middle school FBLA state competition! All of our students took tests in different subjects and their results were outstanding.
